Types of Structural Analysis We Perform
Load Analysis
Determining the loads that act on a structural system is the foundation of any structural analysis. AO Engineers calculates dead loads, live loads, wind loads, snow loads, seismic loads, and other applicable forces in accordance with ASCE 7 and applicable building code requirements. Accurate load determination is essential for evaluating existing structural capacity and designing new or modified structural elements.
Structural Capacity Evaluation
For existing buildings undergoing renovation, change of use, or addition of new loads, AO Engineers evaluates the capacity of existing structural members and systems to determine whether they can safely support the proposed loading conditions. We identify overstressed or undersized members, evaluate connection adequacy, and provide recommendations for reinforcement or replacement where required.
Load Path Analysis
Understanding how loads travel through a building from the roof to the foundation is essential for evaluating structural integrity and planning modifications. Renovation and Modification Feasibility Analysis
